A micro-phenomenological and semiotic approach to cognition in practice: a path toward an integrative approach to studying cognition-in-the-world and from within

The article presents the course-of-experience framework and how it contributes to studying cognition in practice. aim is twofold: (a) argue for a phenomenologically semiotically inspired enactivist approach practice (b) describe research methods that provide rigorous first-person data relation practice—in other words, view “from within” of Practice considered be relevant unit analysis cognition-in-the-world defined as enacted, lived, situated, embodied, enculturated. not viewed “context for” but “constitutive” cognitive process itself. This describes epistemological foundation general assumptions framework, associated way looking at pre-reflective self-consciousness its practice, (c) analytical hypothesis derived from Peirce’s semeiotic, (d) some methodological considerations related collection, processing, analysis. In concluding section, we outline added value science, indicate possible directions further research.
